The ideology of separate spheres dominated thought in the conception of the division of gender roles into separate spheres, women's place was in the private sphere which was family life and the home. Men's place was in the public sphere, mainly in politics and in the economic world which was becoming increasingly separate from home life as the Industrial Revolution progressed, and in public social and cultural activity.
Women's role in the practice of religion and their expected role did not have a significant change. Women’s “private sphere” is considered as the private realm of domestic life, child rearing and preparing them for their life while housekeeping and constantly teaching religious aspects.
